Dear Sandra,I recently lost my husband after a horrendous 18 month battle with MND. Sandra had been a personal friend of mine but we had lost touch for a while and her name cropped up when I was arranging Gordon's funeral. I couldnt believe ths lovely lady was now a Celebrant and there was no one else I would have wanted for Gordon.
On the day of Gordon's funeral Sandra conducting his service beautifully and made everyone feel at ease - it couldn't have been more perfect and Gordon would have been so proud, as am I, of how the service turned out and at the amount of people who came to see Gordon off. It really was truly overwhelming.
We couldn't have done it without you Sandra. Thanks for all your time, compassion and support but also just for being you in a job where you will shine.
Forever grateful. Jules xx
From the first time, myself and the family met you, the warmth and compassion shown to us at a very difficult time when we were heartbroken and mourning the loss of one we loved dearly was so appreciated and we will never forget that.
We knew then for Douglas’ service to be conducted by you would mean so much to be able to prepare and share memories and to describe Douglas and talk about his life. Throughout when in contact your help and support was invaluable.
Douglas to have the send-off he so deserved and a beautiful service meant everything to us and it was conducted so heartfelt. You certainly have a unique ease of comfort and relax people and a true vocation we will never forget.
When I reflect on the day it is with a great peace knowing is was perfect and showed how loved and how many people’s lives Douglas touched. I have lost my everything but precious memories, amazing friends and family I know will help me through together.
I wish you all the best in the future Sandra as you continue in your amazing work. We will always be indebted to you.
Best Regards, Moira xx
No words could have expressed our gratitude for the support extended to myself and family during the passing of our brother Ivan, especially knowing the distance between ourselves in Scotland and Ivan’s home in Brighton. From the moment, you spoke with us and picked up the reins we knew Ivan would be safely placed in trusting hands and prepared for the last leg of his journey. From contacting and finding the most fitting Funeral Director, to working with the Coronary office, and finally getting Ivan released to a place of safety.
We understood this was not straight forward and came with its difficulties, however. you took patience and kept in contact with us throughout the journey and, indeed, the short trip of Ivan to his little B&B at Sussex Funeral Home for us to say our last goodbyes to him. We can’t express in words all you took on, leaving us time to reflect and have our memories of Ivan.
On travelling to Sussex, you had everything organised, all in folders and appointments aligned. You had even spoken to the Manager of the sheltered housing to have Ivan’s room and belongings made available. We have been overwhelmed with emotions at the service conducted and how personal you made it, especially knowing you had never met Ivan, however, put together a very true tribute of his life and worked with Phil @ Sussex Funeral Services on the small family service. You certainly have a special gift Sandra, especially in the way you bring calmness and put people at ease.
We wish you well in fulfilling your dreams in the Celebrant role.
Moira Harper and Family xx
I would just like to thank you Sandra for assisting me with the funeral of Ivan. I know that the family very much appreciated all that you did and your services were absolutely spot on. Your input helped things along beautifully.
Warmest regards Philip.
